AvoGreen® Standard

AvoGreen® is a responsible and auditable production system that assures safe fruit for customers.
Using IPM principals the AGA has dveloped a standard for growers and customers.  The following standards are required for an avocado crop to comply with AvoGreen®:
 
1.   Approved agrichemicals at no more than the maximum rates and frequency detailed in the AIC Avocado Quality Manual and as on the product label, shall only be applied to avocado where there is a demonstrated need based on:

o Documented pest monitoring results
o Documented packhouse/harvest information
o Accepted industry practice

2. All agrichemical applications used in producing avocados for the AvoGreen® programme shall be recorded on the spray diary and the diary shall be submitted to the Packhouse for verification prior to packing.

3. All persons spraying agrichemicals within an orchard in the AvoGreen® programme shall have current GROWSAFE certification.

4. All fruit shall be packed by an Operator who is registered by the AIC.

5. Only individuals accredited by the AIC shall carry out pest monitoring.
The term "agrichemicals" is used to include all chemicals excluding fertilisers and spray adjuvants. Approved agrichemicals are registered pesticides.
