AvoGreen® Grower

How do I qualify for AvoGreen certification?

To qualify for AvoGreen® certification, growers must undertake to have their orchard monitored at least according to the minimum frequencies specified in the Monitoring Schedule.This must be documented by a signed agreement with their Operator.  This agreement between the Grower and their Operator forms the basis for determining if the Grower is AvoGreen® compliant.  This agreement must specify:

  • That the Grower agrees to monitor at least at the minimum frequency as outlined in the Minimum Monitoring Requirement;
  • The number of trees or area to be monitored;
  • Whether scale is to be monitored or not; and
  • A traceable start date for the commencement of monitoring.

Growers that comply with the AvoGreen® requirements will be issued with an AvoGreen® compliance certificate.

As a grower you can participate in the programme by either:

1. Having an accredited operator monitor your orchard OR
2. Becoming an accredited operator to monitor your own orchard

All operators will be audited by an auditor approved by the AIC.

Having an accredited operator monitor your orchard
As a grower you enter into a contractural agreement with an approved operator who will operate the AvoGreen® system. Click on the file below to download the list of approved operators.

Your operator will provide monitoring results and advice on whether the insect threshold has been exceeded.  If the threshold has been exceeded, you as the grower still maintain responsibilty for the final decision whether to spray or not, and on the choice of spray material.
The cost of monitoring will be part of your individual contractual arrangement between yourself and the operator.

This situation would include growers who enter into an agreement with an accredited Operator to be a pest monitor.
