Super Green Smoothie for All Ages

A super healthy and delicious smoothie recipe from Kate Callaghan for you and your little one.

Time: 5 mins Serves: 2 Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients:

Handful of spinach

¼- ½ avocado

1 raw, organic, egg yolk (no raw egg whites – the avidin in them can contribute to a biotin deficiency)

1 level tablespoon organic vanilla whey protein powder (with no dodgy ingredients) OR collagen hydrosylate (omit if under 1)

½ tsp cinnamon

½ frozen banana, chopped

1 level tablespoon full fat yoghurt OR coconut yoghurt

2 spoons Bioceuticals Baby Biotic, or normal probiotic powder if it’s for you (optional)

1 cup liquid (I like to use ½ cup coconut water and ½ cup almond milk, but you can use any you like)

Squeeze of fresh lemon juice (this cuts any bitterness from the greens)

1tsp pure maple syrup or raw honey (optional – taste before adding to see if needed)

Method:

Throw everything in a high speed blender and whizz all together until smooth and there are no random spinach chunks

Change it up a little – you could whip this up at night with a 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds and leave it in the fridge overnight to set. In the morning you’ll have a yummy green chia pudding!
