Avocado Christmas trees

  • 2 New Zealand avocados
  • 4 pita breads
  • Cream cheese - spreadable
  • Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cherry tomatoes- cut in half
  • 1 Yellow capsicum- diced
  • 1 Spring onion- Sliced into small round pieces.
  • Pretzel sticks

  1. Begin by quartering the pita bread evenly and generously spreading them with cream cheese.
  2. Gently insert pretzel sticks into the base of each pita triangle. You can either keep them separate for individual canap├ęs or join two together for a delightful party snack (like we have).
  3. In a mixing bowl, mash the avocados and then mix in lemon juice, salt, and pepper, creating a simple guacamole. Spread the guac onto the pita breads.
  4. Arrange tomatoes, spring onions, and capsicum on top of the avocado, resembling festive baubles on a Christmas tree.
  5. Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, slice the cheese into stars and crown your “trees” with these delightful ornaments.
